Tutorial support is central to your study. Your course tutor will support and advise you during your time at South Tyneside College. They will provide helpful, constructive feedback on your progress and help you with any problems you may experience.

Teaching staff are experienced and professional. Most have worked in the Merchant Navy so they know the pressures which face those who work in the industry. They will help and support you during your studies.

Our Marine Learning Centre (MLC) provides the resources you’ll need to support your study, all under one roof. It includes modern computers with internet access, reference materials and resources, and staff who are happy to provide individual help and support.

Our onsite accommodation provides comfortable bedrooms. It is just a minute’s walk away from our classrooms, making it very convenient. It has a laundry, TV and games rooms and full catering facilities. It can also provide halal food. If preferred, our Accommodation Officer can also arrange local accommodation in rented lodgings locally.
